So basically to me, every animal can be categorized as Squishy or Crunchy. The Squishy is where my primary interest lies. The Crunchy is fascinating and wonderful but they don’t necessarily tickle my cuteness receptors in the same way. A lot of phyla are pretty self-explanatory; Cnidaria are Squishy. Flatworms are Squishy. Annelids are Squishy. Arthropods are Crunchy. Nematodes are Crunchy because they have a thick cuticle. However velvet worms are Squishy because they’re chuby. Some phyla are bit more complicated. Mollusks for instance. Gastropods and cephalopods are Squishy but bivalves are Crunchy. Echinoderms too; sea cucumbers are Squishy. Urchins are Crunchy. Sea stars depends on the species: the fat ones are Squishy but the thinner bonier ones are Crunchy. Vertebrates are tricky as well because fish and amphibians are Squishy. Reptiles it depends, geckos for instance are Squishy but turtles are Crunchy. Birds and mammals are in their own third category of Warm which I find a bit unsettling. The two exceptions are housecats because with the aloofness and the sunbathing and the general floppiness they’re sort of like lizards and then cetaceans because they have Fish Vibes. Porifera are something I should be able to grow in my garden and I’m bitter that I can’t so I won’t be commenting further on them.

Bringing this back around because I can! 🎉
Woe Kuw*hi Be Upon Ye
Old tags because I like them. UuU
Idk how many people have read @intobarbarians Dragon!Hiei/Kuwabara fic but it's one of my ABSOLUTE favorites! 💖💖💖 (give it a read if you like Hieibara! Their writing for Hiei and Kazuma is so awesome! They really capture Hiei and Kazuma's personalities, tones of voice, and thought processes. The ocs in this particular fic are so cool too!!!
So when I saw the post linked above I just sort of mentally started rotating the image of Dragon!Hiei and the premise of Kazuma taking care of and watching over a much smaller and more vulnerable Hiei from the Kuwahi Cat Fic (Actual title: Cat Got Your Tongue by VoidDrifter).
I now present to you a little idea based on my two favorite Transformed!Hiei AUs combined:
Somehow there's magical shenanigans and Hiei's beautiful magnificent Dragon transformation is altered by outside forces and he's trapped as a Three Eyed Black Velvet Gecko. He still has his telepathy. Suddenly Kazuma's class has a new class pet that he keeps on his shoulder or in a front shirt pocket.
Anyway if you like Hieibara and want to check out some Transformed!Hiei fics may I reccomend my two favorites:
Dragon!Hieibara and The Kuwahi Cat Fic
Because they're always on my mind.
Especially since the Dragon!Hiei fic validated my Badass!Yukina headcanon which was amazing and an important step on my journey towards my own aus where Yukina gets to be powerful and a force to be reckoned with too.
(For the Dragon!Hiei fic it's hyperlinked to each previous chapter. To read it you click the link titled "this" on every chapter until it takes you to the very beginning of the fic - then you just read and hit back in your browser/on your device to go to the next chapter until you get back to the beginning/the last chapter which I believe is chapter 16.)

I have always loved lizards, and I currently have velvet Geckos and Suzy the baby bearded dragon. These guys inspired me to make a collection of tubby Australian lizards. This is Max the fat bearded dragon and Ash the dinky Blue tongue lizard. These 3d prints are new designs I've been working on this week. Max can swivel his head from side to side and Ash is just Ash.
Tomorrow is photoshoot day and then I will be posting to my Cults3d online store!

[ID: A colored digital drawing of the op’s fursona. They are largely based on a tiger, and are standing upright with longer front limbs and a slightly hunched posture rather than having a completely human body shape. They have a wide build, with broad shoulders and hips. They are also slightly fat, with a double chin and fat around the stomach and hips. The tail is not based on a tiger’s but a leopard gecko’s. It is thick with slight ridges. The tiger also has short antlers that are shedding velvet, appearing dark red. The coloration is based on a tiger’s, orange-brown with a white chest and belly, tip of tail, scruff, and muzzle. There are black stripes, some resembling stretch marks on their hips and stomach. The tail is spotted instead of striped. There is also a spot in the center of one of their arms. They have a scar on one of their hips and the inside of one of their lower legs. There is also a pinkish blotchy marking on their chest. They are wearing a small earring, and are smiling. The background is a dark gray and writing in the upper right corner reads “me!”. End ID.]
HIII I drew a fursona HIGHLY recommend it was so so fun. rambling about the design under the cut!
so the pose was initially referenced from the dungeon meshi art of the tiger and bear beastmen cause I really like the sort of anthro designs like that, that have those longer arms and hunched posture so they look human shaped but they can get on all fours if they want to. being bipedal is lame. I then changed stuff around to accurately get my body type (which took forever). Don’t draw this sort of thing often but I’m happy with it. I added a few not tiger features as well. They’re a bit bulkier than a tiger which is kinda the bear influence, and the antlers are from the den from slay the princess because I love her and I love her design. and the tail is a gecko tail! my name is gecko I had to include some gecko elements. and the stretch mark markings are based on my stretch marks, the scars are surgical scars of mine, the spot on the arm is a birthmark, and the chest splotches are psoriasis discoloration. Wanted to include little details like that so it was recognizably my body! I’m so happy with this guy and now I want it all dressed up in little outfits. you guys gotta get on this it’s so fun. also for the image description I just used one pronoun set (they/them) for simplicity but you can refer to them with any of my pronouns :)

A list of enclosures I have made in no particular order plus what is kept in them:
bioactive leopard gecko terrarium
live plants: curly spider plant, snake plant, various airplants, jade plant, donkey tail succulent, sunrise succulent, string of buttons succulent, unknown plant
clean up crew: springtails and orange powder isopods
houses: tonchu (clown g cross with raptor morph leopard gecko)
notes: tonchu refuses to eat mealworms loves silkworms and dubia roachs, he also has wax worms as a treat. hes very picky about eating and often wants to explore out of his enclosure. his favorite activities include having me hold the food bowl for him, climbing his background and stalking.
betta fish tank (incomplete)
live plants: anubias barteri, elodea densa, java moss, moss ball
will house: longfinned betta fish and either a apple snail or nerite snail (havent decided but they will both deal with the algae)
changes: first im going to be changing out the filter for a sponge filter because im not happy with the high flow and the space it takes up for a 25l tank. im going to be adding another hide on the ground and ordering some floating plants called salvinia cucullata to block the light. ive also ordering some limestone to increase the ph levels. overall still learning as this is my first time with aquariums.
isopod terrarium
no live plants but they do have a fake succulent
houses: armadillidium klugi 'montenegro' AKA clown isopods (they also have some springtails in there to prevent mold)
notes: the clowns love sweet potato
jumping spider terrarium
live plants: broom moss, jewel orchid, spanish moss airplant, ivy leaved toadflax (newest addition)
cleanup crew: springtails, dwarf white isopods
houses: unfortunately my regal jumping spider pumpkin has died from unknown causes
notes: when alive pumpkin loved taking down moths, also the isopods love the ivy leaved toadflax so im hoping they dont eat it all
future plans: unfortunately I am banned from owning anymore pets currently but my future plans are eventually owning a crested gecko, tokay gecko, day gecko, chinese cave gecko, red-eyed crocodile skink, monitor lizard, millipede, velvet spider and many more isopods species such as rubber ducky

What animals do you have all in all?
A 5ft leucitic ball python, two Mediterranean house geckos I caught at the place I work, 13(?) blue feigning death beetles, an Asian forest scorpion, a Brazilian jewel, an Antilles pinktoe, a Brazilian black, a Trinidad dwarf, a pink zebra, Chilean flame, Chilean rose, an Arizona blonde, and a curly hair tarantula— a Turkish velvet spider, uhh. I think that’s it? I had a wild bunny for a very short period of time but it passed away despite my best efforts. They’re hard to raise bc of their dietary needs, and even with rabbit milk and cecotropes and seeming to thrive it just died one night. And that’s it! For now…
